Hello, my son is also 13 and has just recenlty been diagnosed with Chrons disease. His symptoms are slightly different. He does have some stomach pain with certain food he eats, alot of gas/heartburn. But, the main symptom he has is swollen lips. I know that sounds strange, but I guess unexplained, chronic swelling is also a symptom of Chrons. He had a upper and lower scope with biposies and does have Chrons. He had to start folic acid tablets and vit D.
On Monday, he will begin methotrexate (orally) and remicade through an IV. I am concerned about the side effects. I keep reading that Remicade can cause cancer, especially in young males. Any thoughts??
