Crohn's Doesn't Have Me!
Posted: Jan 13, 2010

 Hello,

I live with Crohns by pretending to not live with Crohns. Sound funny?  Well let me explain.  I pretend that I am not ill at all when I am feeling good, so when I am really ill I pass through it knowing when the pain is over I will have another day of happiness, and fun filled days of pretending I am not ill.  Simply put it is just how I dealt with the multiple appointments, medications side effects, and problems with being chronicly ill.

I have the symptoms and the problems that everyone talks about in the forum, and the complications with foods.  Somtimes living in the bathroom, and not wanting to go places where I dont know where the bathrooms are located.

I have not eaten (red meat) or a steak since my youngest daughter was born 1979 even before I was diagnosed with Crohns I knew something was wrong with my stomach-digestive system.   She is 31 years old now so I have controlled the disease through diet for many years.

My brother has the disease too and has had two operations one removed his colon and the last one removed 1 1/2 feet of his small intestine.  He is on Remicaid now for the rest of his life.  He seems to be doing ok but I think he should have been on the treatment sooner.

I start Remicaid this month after taking Imuran for 1 year, I learned its not working small wonder.  There is new legislation in congress for finding a cure for Kidney and IBD problems.

Here is to hoping for a miricle in 2010 Best of luck to everyone here.
