Here we go again...

 Hi Everyone,

Two years ago I had alot of severe abdominal pain that landed me in for a colonoscopy. I was informed that I had a lot of ulcers in my stomach lining and I had colitis.  Then a few days later they said I had crohns but later went back to saying it was "just colitis".  I was put on prednisone for a few weeks and asacol (6 times a day).  It eventually cleared up and I was back to a normal life.  Back in December I had a flare-up and it took over me- severe abdominal pain was the worst sympton and I went to a doctor who put me back on asacol and prednisone.  So here I am 6 months later and in extreme pain- worse than ever.  Very weak, nauseas, severe joint pain esp in knees, and extreme abdomen pain- blood work and another colonoscopy...I now have Crohns.

I am on prednisone for 6 weeks and Asacol for life I think.   I am not happy about the prednisone- gaining weight is not something I want to worry about or can afford to do.  The asacol is expensive even with my insurance.  I have missed work all week and using up my vacation time- I am a single mom and cant afford to be out.  I believe the chemo I had 7 years ago caused this (Vinblastine causes GI problems years down the road) and so I am very angry and depressed about all of this.  Not until you go through this do you truly know what it is like. I feel like no-one around me understands me.
